Gucci has long been known to be one of the major players in the fashion industry. Other than the sunglasses, the brand is also famous for its apparel and other accessories. Throughout the years, the brand has successfully perfected the combination of classic styles with the latest modern trends. The House of Gucci has created sunglasses worn by the most popular people: Hollywood celebrities, socialites, and public figures. One of Gucci’s most popular follower and endorser was the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis who was known by many as “Jackie O.”
The once first lady of the United States, Jackie O, was known for wearing a variety of Gucci sunglasses which complemented her elegant appearance. Karen Finley, the controversial performance artist, presented her new project on stage: The Jackie Look. This show, which premiered on January 30 at the Lauris Beechman Theater, relives the memory of Jackie O in the most unique way. The show commemorates Jacqueline Onassis’s history and exploits as an icon of feminism whilst presenting her style of wearing luxurious outfits and, of course, complete with Gucci sunglasses. Finley, who acts as Jackie O, also talks about popular personas of the past and present such as the current First Lady Michelle Obama, Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe and the like.
Along with the rest of the world, Gucci will forever remember Jackie O and her influence to all of us. Moreover, her memory shall live on with every pair of Gucci sunglasses worn by people with the same taste and class as her.
